Archibald and Joeri are the names of the two fjordhorses that collected this title. They are two of the few fjordhorse that act on this level. Strange, thinks Lodette, the owner and driver from Archibald and Joeri, because they go like a bad out of hell and will go on for ever !
Lodette; "I've never driven another breed in competition, and I'm sure they perform as good as every other breed and even better!"
Two years ago Lodette and her fjordhorses tried to select for the Dutch driving championship level 4. The succeed after a lot of reverse, like disqualification, broken harness and even a crash, but they collected enough points to be allowed to start at the championship.
During the event Archibalt, Joeri and Lodette were a perfect team and the horses showed the biggest class of a fjordhorse... The never give up !
Last year the did it again, now in the highest national level Z. A nice detail of last years championship was that place in the M level was taken by Peter Schouten, who was also driving a pair of fjordhorses. That was a great party in Aalten were the slogan was; "Even a small fjordhorse is great!"
Lodette has given an advise for everybody who likes to compete with a fjordhorse; It is possible to perform very well with a fjord. You just have to go for it, match your training with the character of your horse and don't let other people discourage you ! It's like my father says; "One day they will understand and trade those big horse for a fjordhorse, if only for the reason that they eat far less than those big horses ..."
